I teach in the States both Spanish and French, and I chair our department. In our education reform movement we are having to change our assessment and teaching from an achievement based record to a proficiency based one. We are still figuring that one out, as leadership from the top does not have a clue what to do, but we have a very strong language organization that is helping in this reform.
