The Truman Show is a 1998 film starring Jim Carrey as a man who is initially unaware that he is living in a constructed reality television show, broadcast around the clock to billions of people across the globe. Truman becomes suspicious of his perceived reality and embarks on a quest to discover the truth about his life. (Adapted from Wikipedia)
These Study Notes offer teachers ideas for examining the film The Truman Show. We also offer some suggestions as to how the notes could be adapted to be used with students of English at a variety of levels (see below trailer for links). Themes include reality television, and morality and ethics of broadcasting.
